Silvaplana Celebrates the Second Edition of the Winter Opening from November 22 – 24, 2024 Freestyle-Action in the streets at the “Silvaplana Rocks the Rail“ Contest

‘Save the Date’ for the second edition of the Silvaplana Winter Opening, where Silvaplana and Corvatsch, the freestyle mecca of Engadin, will kick off the winter season together. This winter promises plenty of excitement, including the Freestyle World Championships with medal decisions at Corvatsch in March 2025. That’s reason enough to celebrate the opening weekend from November 22 to 24 with a colorful program featuring freestyle action, live music, and more in the heart of the village, along with the first park laps at Corvatsch Park.

Saturday is all about the “Silvaplana Rocks the Rail” contest. Snowboarders and freeskiers, from kids and amateurs to professionals, will gather in the center of Silvaplana. It’s not something you see every day! Directly along the old Julier Road, features like rails, boxes, hips, wallrides and more for riders to hit and show off their tricks. Riders navigate their way on the course between the buildings to reach the finish line. The rail session is open to anyone willing to venture into the snowy streets, with competitors divided into different age categories. Highlight is the session of the pro riders, among them snowboarders Nicolas Huber and Jeremy Denda. Register now!

Right around the corner from the riders’ finish line is the large open-air stage. On Saturday, Cachita will perform. The young Swiss artist with Cuban roots knows how to make a statement with her clever and smart lyrics. Her songs combine influences from Latin, Pop, RnB, as well as Soul and Blues. Food trucks offering delicious treats, partner booths, a live concert, and DJs creating the perfect vibe complete the freestyle experience – all with free entry.

Free Coaching by FRESK – Highly recommended is the free freestyle coaching in Corvatsch Park with the experts from FRESK. In the valley, there are also safe first steps ensured for the little ones on one or two skis. The “Freestyle Snow Park” will be set up in the Snow Kids Village right in center of Silvaplana. Families are warmly welcome.
