Rock A Rail Snowboard Contest from November 22–24

Innsbruck, AUT (November 5th, 2024) – From November 22–24, the Snowfest will once again set up camp in the heart of Innsbruck, Austria, right in front of the “Tiroler Landestheater”, with the impressive Nordkette as a backdrop. Celebrating the vibrant diversity of winter sports, Snowfest Innsbruck returns for its third edition, offering the second stop of the 2024 Rock A Rail Ski & Snowboard Tour with an international lineup, as well as the Snowfest Village, where numerous sports clubs and organizations will showcase their sports. Snowfest Innsbruck is the perfect place to try out new winter sports, learn about new initiatives, and much more. Admission is free.

ROCK A RAIL SKI & SNOWBOARD – The Europe-wide Rock A Rail Tour returns for a second season in 2024. Following the first stop in Thun (SUI) in mid-October, Innsbruck is the second tour stop ahead of the grand finale in The Hague (NED) in December. One setup, two sports, three cities in three countries over three months. This tour brings top-tier street snowboarding and street skiing with the best riders in the world. Known for its innovative setups, Rock A Rail is the only rail tour for snowboarders and freeskiers worldwide. In Innsbruck, snowboarders like 2023 Rock A Rail Champion Paula Benito (SPA) and the winners of the Thun stop, Livia Tanno and Nick Puenter (both SUI) are confirmed. They’ll compete alongside Jesse Augustinus (NED), Dima Luchkin (UKR), Jake Simpson (GBR), and Jakub Kuba Hrones (CZE) among many more. In the skiing lineup, last year’s winner Olivia Asselin (CAN) will showcase her skills on the new setup, joined by Bella Bacon (USA), Bendik Rasmussen (NOR), or Gen Fujii (JPN).

THE SETUP – Standing 43 meters long, 17 meters wide, and 7.5 meters high, this impressive structure features a unique setup masterminded by Stefan Plattner and Gerben Verweij (GV Constructions). Together, they designed the “Rock A Rail Cage” with distinctive features and a multitude of riding options, setting the stage for an unprecedented freestyle playground that will captivate spectators. The Rock A Rail Tour’s final stop will take place from December 8–12 in The Hague, Netherlands, as part of Snowfest The Hague, where the 2024 Rock A Rail Tour champions will be crowned.

SNOWFEST VILLAGE – The Snowfest Village is the centerpiece of Snowfest Innsbruck, celebrating the exciting world of winter sports. From alpine skiing and freeskiing, snowboarding, biathlon to luge, ice hockey, skibobbing, and more, visitors can try out various sports on snow, mats, or simulators, and enjoy plenty of opportunities to learn, meet others, and get involved. Children can get their first taste of snowboarding with Burton’s Riglet Program, guided by experienced instructors, while SAAC offers insights into mountain safety. A visit is well worth it.

YOU THINK YOU CAN RIDE? – On Sunday, the ramp will be open for any rider eager to test their skills on modified rails with a gentler setup. Kids are also welcome, with coaches on hand to ensure a safe and fun experience.

PARTIES – On Friday and Saturday, Jimmys and Blue Chip are the meeting points for the “Snowfest Innsbruck Afterparty produced by Bögen Radio.” Look forward to the DJ line-up and secure your tickets here. It all kicks off on Thursday evening at Montagu for the Warm-Up Party.
