Anon teams up with French artist Lucas Beaufort on a collection of helmets, goggles, accessories and apparel inspired by the people we meet.
Some of the most meaningful things begin without a plan: a shared meal, a conversation, a bike ride with a person you just met. For the French visual artist Lucas Beaufort, these moments have long been the starting point for his work. Encounters with Lucas Beaufort brings this philosophy to Anon, turning a shared experience between the artist and Anon athletes into a collection of helmets, goggles, accessories and apparel.

From encounters to artwork
Known for his distinctive, playful artwork and his deep roots in skateboarding and snowboarding, Beaufort has spent his career moving between creative communities, action sports and the wider world of art. “My inspiration comes from my travels and, above all, from the people I meet. All my artistic work reflects this idea of connection,” says Beaufort. He has painted everything from surfboards, skateboards and snowboards to large-scale murals, skate ramps and even entire parks. Anon, the daughter brand of Burton Snowboards, offered him a completely new medium to explore.
Rather than starting with a set visual direction, Anon brought Beaufort to Oregon to spend time with the brand’s team and athletes Sam Kuch, Michelle Parker and Nick Russel. Over shared meals, mountain biking, conversations and creative sessions, Lucas got to know the people behind the sport and the stories that shape them. Those moments became part of the artwork that defines the collection.

“What made this collaboration special was giving Lucas the space to meet our riders without trying to force the outcome. We wanted the collection to come from a real experience, and you can see that in the work. It’s personal, playful, and really true to the kind of products we want to make,” says Zach Nigro, Burton’s Vice President of Brand & Sports Marketing.
The Encounters collection
Encounters with Lucas Beaufort includes the Oslo WaveCel® and Anon’s pinnacle Merak WaveCel® helmets, alongside the M4, M4S, M6, M6S, Nesa and Nesa S goggles. All goggles feature MFI® technology with embedded magnets that connect seamlessly to compatible face masks, balaclavas and hoods. The collection also includes the MFI Fleece Helmet Hood, MFI Hellbrook Clava and a selection of softgoods, bringing Beaufort’s artwork from the mountain into everyday life.
Bringing Encounters to London
To mark the launch of Encounters with Lucas Beaufort, Anon brought the collection to London on October 15 and 16. At Clara’s Wine & Bistro, Lucas painted the restaurant’s front window and invited guests to create alongside him over dinner. The following day, the project was showcased at The Snowboard Asylum, where Lucas painted the shopfront in Covent Garden and met with members of the wider ski and snowboard community.
“Art has always been a way for me to build bridges between people, and I truly believe that the best collection is made from the best stories,” says Beaufort.
Encounters with Lucas Beaufort is available online and at select retailers as of October 15, 2026, with additional products rolling out through mid-November.
