Burton Waverange Highshot Boots

Burton Waverange & Highshot Step On Boots 25/26 – First Look

Step On ease. Dialed BOA control.

The 2025/26 Burton Waverange X and Highshot X Step On boots bring a new level of customization with Dual-Zone BOA® lacing that lets you fine-tune upper and lower zones independently.

  • The Waverange X aims for more surfy, fluid flex and all-mountain comfort
  • The Highshot X pushes a firmer, more aggressive ride

Each boot still gives you the clean, buckle-free Step On® interface, and both pair that system with features like heat-moldable liners and durable outsoles for all-day riding. Want to understand the BOA difference? Below’s the breakdown.

BOA Systems Explained (Single / Dual / Triple)

  • Single BOA: One dial that controls the entire boot’s tension. Simpler, but less precise—tightening the dial affects your whole foot, which can cause uneven pressure.
  • Dual-Zone BOA: Two independent zones—upper cuff and lower foot. You can loosen or tighten your ankle separately from your instep.
  • Triple BOA (or 3-Zone): Adds a third dial for inner liner or heel harness adjustment. More granular control but slightly more complexity.

The Snowboard International First Thoughts are back for another season of in-depth gear reviews, giving you the lowdown on the best snowboard gear for winter 25/26. This time around, the team spent two weeks up in Åre, Sweden, putting the latest kit to the test: five riders, three videographers, and one epic resort.
