Silvaplana Rocks The Rail goes down this weekend: November 22-24

Silvaplana, SUI (November 19, 2024) – Preparations are in full swing for the 2nd edition of the Silvaplana Winter Opening, which will take place in just a few days. From November 22 to 24, 2024, Silvaplana and Corvatsch will kick o@ the new winter season—an important one for the Engadin region, culminating in the Freestyle World Championships in March. The opening weekend o@ers free admission and a wealth of activities for all generations, celebrating and showcasing freestyle sports in all their diversity. Highlights include a live concert by Cachita, the Snow Kids Village where young visitors can try out freestyle activities, food trucks, partner booths, mountain coaching, and of course, the thrilling “Silvaplana Rocks The Rail” freestyle show in the heart of the village. The “Silvaplana Rocks The Rail” course weaves its way down the old Julierstrasse with various rail features.

The goal is to complete the course through the village as smoothly as possible. The session is open to
everyone—snowboarders and freeskiers, from children and amateurs to seasoned professionals. Those
who want to participate can still sign up online. Among the pros attending are Freestyle World
Championship ambassadors Nicolas Huber and Jeremy Denda, who are eagerly anticipating the unique
course through Silvaplana’s snowy streets. They are joined by other snowboarders like Rock A Rail Thun
winner Nick Pünter, Jonas Junker, and Patrick Hofmann. Among the skiers, 2023 title defender and 2021
World Champion Anastasia Tatalina is returning, along with Nicola Bolinger.
