Silvaplana Kicks Off Winter with the Third Edition of the Winter Opening, November 21–23, 2025

“Silvaplana Rocks the Rail” promises freestyle action with music and festival flair: a meeting point for all generations

The wait for winter is finally over! In a few days, the center of Silvaplana will transform into a true winter wonderland. From November 21 to 23, 2025, Silvaplana celebrates the official start of the new season with the third edition of the Winter Opening, featuring freestyle action, live concerts, freestyle coaching, culinary delights, and plenty of community spirit. Admission is free.

At the legendary “Silvaplana Rocks the Rail” contest, the street becomes the stage: snowboarders will showcase their most spectacular tricks right in the middle of the village, including local Jeremy Denda. The course, designed by Paolo De La Fata and the FRESK Crew along the old Julier street, is said to be one of the coolest setups of the season. Where else can you ride feature after feature, following the flow of the street? The setup is playful and fun for kids yet technically challenging for the pros. The setup includes a double-kinked tube, a downbox, and a straight rail, offering riders the perfect playground for stylish tricks and non-stop action. Riders will be cheered on by fans, families and friends enjoying the atmosphere at various food stands and in the Snow Kids Village, where the youngest visitors can take their first steps on one or two boards. The festival vibe invites everyone to linger, watch, and celebrate together. On the main stage, Giganto(with rap in Romansh) and LCone, one of Switzerland’s most influential rap artists, will bring the crowd to life on Saturday night. Throughout the weekend, the action continues up in Corvatsch Park, which opens its slopes for the first laps of the season. The FRESK Crew will offer free freestyle coaching sessions, giving participants the chance to refine their tricks and rediscover the park together. Known for its perfectly shaped jumps and creative lines, the Corvatsch Park is a favorite among international top riders year after year.
