Dutu and Fricz succeed at the Rock A Rail Finale

Snowfest The Hague once again played host to the grand finale of the Rock A Rail Tour, closing out a highly successful third season of the international street-style snowboard series. From December 19 to 21, the Dutch city became the focal point of urban snowboarding, as riders delivered progressive rail riding in one of the most established city contests on the calendar.

The final stop marked the twelfth Rock A Rail snowboard edition in The Hague — the birthplace of the event back in 2011 — and underlined the tour’s reputation as a benchmark for creative, technically demanding street snowboarding. Across five tour stops in autumn 2025, Rock A Rail once again confirmed its position as the leading in-city rail contest format for snowboarders worldwide.

Dutu and Fricz take victory in The Hague

In the women’s snowboard competition, Katja Dutu (NED) claimed her first-ever Rock A Rail victory in front of a home crowd. She sealed the win with a technically precise backside lipslide pretzel out in her final run, earning her both the event victory and the Best Trick Award.

Mia Langridge (GBR) finished second, continuing a remarkably consistent season that saw her step onto the podium at four of the five Rock A Rail tour stops. Local rider Rachida Aoulad (NED) rounded out the podium in third after impressing with a standout gap to boardslide on the demanding setup.

The men’s final delivered one of the most progressive sessions of the season. Hungary’s Botond Fricz secured his first Rock A Rail win with a powerful mix of control and technicality, including his signature backside tailslide 270 and a hardway cab 270 on the down-flat-down rail.

Oscar Mattart (FRA) took second place and landed the Best Men’s Trick with a gap backside 360 to 50-50 on the same down-flat-down feature, while Joewen Frijns (BEL) completed the podium in third.

Overall snowboard tour champions crowned

Thanks to consistent performances throughout the 2025 season, Mia Langridge (GBR) claimed the overall women’s snowboard tour title. In the men’s standings, Colin Frans (USA) secured the overall victory, underlining the importance of consistency across the five-stop tour.

Snowboarding at the heart of Snowfest

Beyond the competition, Snowfest The Hague once again transformed the city into a winter sports hub. The Snowfest Village brought snowboarding culture directly to the public, while Sunday’s Kids Day shifted the spotlight to the next generation. Young riders took over an adapted Rock A Rail setup as part of a World Rookie Street Tour stop, reinforcing Rock A Rail’s role in connecting elite-level street snowboarding with grassroots development.
