DIYX STRT JAM 2024 Recap
DIYX STRT JAM takes over the streets of Stockholm
Ethan Morgan and his crew of creatives have done it again – DIYX STRT JAM took over the streets of Stockholm the last week of October, refuelling our souls and leaving us with some serious post-event blues.
“DIYX this year was unreal. I lost my phone, my credit card and my voice, so it was a great success” – Henna Ikola
The 2024 edition cemented its reputation as one of the “best things ever happen to snowboarding”. With over 60 top snowboarders and global media coverage, this one was one for the books.
“A spicy, wholesome gathering of some of the world’s finest humans who happened to love snowboarding” – Sparrow Knox
The festivities kicked off Thursday with a welcome dinner, reuniting old friends and introducing new ones. Later, the celebration moved to Nalen for Method Magazine’s 30th-anniversary bash, fueled by Troubled Andrew’s sweet tunes that encouraged the mosh pit of the year – which resulted in Lolo Derminio breaking her ribs as she was carrying Ethan on her shoulders.
“A laughter-inducing, mind-boggling, foot-stomping uproar of chaos and love. Long live DIYX!” – Joe Simpson

A few monster dollars later and a good night’s sleep, Friday saw the riders gather at Östermalms Idrottsplan. Paula Benito’s BS Boardslide through the gap rail won her best trick of the day among the ladies, while Fridge’s gap tail tap FS 270 to switch earned him the best trick of the day in the men’s category. The day concluded with an exclusive movie night, premiering some of the best films of the season.
“Isami from Torment mag came down to breakfast on the Sunday. Looked at our table and said, ‘How the f@ck do you Europeans do it?’” – Chriso McAlpine
Saturday’s action moved to the renowned Frontline RailJam spot at Sergels Torg. As the riders pushed their limits, the day was filled with broken boards, high energy, and fire-lit rails.
The chaos wrapped up at Slakthuset, where Egan Wint and Oyvind Kirkhus claimed the overall titles. Henna Ikola and Lolo Dermino snagged the DIYX-iest award that came with a custom-made necklace, after which Ethan Morgan’s new movie, The Ride, premiered, setting the stage for an epic after-party.
Until next time, DIYX-ers!
