Allianz becomes Title Sponsor of the inaugural FIS Freeride World Championships Andorra 2026. The Spanish insurer partners with FIS to support the first-ever Freeride World Championships.

The inaugural Allianz FIS Freeride World Championships Andorra 2026 by Mammut will mark a historic milestone for freeride skiing and snowboarding, following a landmark title sponsorship agreement with Allianz.
Championing courage at the highest level of freeride
As Title Sponsor, Allianz aligns itself with a sport that embodies preparation, commitment, and the
courage to choose one’s own line. This partnership reflects Allianz’s brand positioning, “Y a vivir”, a
philosophy rooted in encouraging people to pursue their ambitions with confidence, supported by a
strong and reliable safety net.
Freeride athletes are not driven by fear, but by experience, responsibility, and trust, values that
resonate deeply with Allianz’s vision. Through the Allianz FIS Freeride World Championships Andorra
2026 by Mammut, the brand supports athletes who push their limits thoughtfully and live their passion
to the fullest.
The partnership between Allianz and the FIS reinforces a shared ambition: to elevate freeride on the
global sports stage while preserving its core values of respect for the mountains, personal
responsibility, and progression.
Hosted on one of the most technical freeride venues in the Pyrenees, the event will bring together the
world’s best freeride skiers and snowboarders in a powerful showcase of athletic excellence and
mental strength.
“At Allianz, we believe the world would be better if people have more courage than fear. Freeride
perfectly reflects that belief; it’s about preparation, confidence, and choosing to fully live the
experiences that matter. Becoming Title Sponsor of the first FIS Freeride World Championships is a
natural expression of our commitment to support people as they pursue their ambitions.”
A Historic First for Freeride on the World Stage
From February 1–6, 2026, the renowned freeride venue of Ordino Arcalís, Andorra, will set the stage
for a landmark moment in snow sports history: the first-ever Allianz FIS Freeride World
Championships Andorra 2026 by Mammut. This inaugural championship, sanctioned by the
International Snowboard Federation (FIS), will bring together 65 elite freeriders from 17
nations to compete for the title of FIS Freeride World Champion.
The event marks a significant evolution in the sport, officially integrating freeride skiing and
snowboarding into the FIS framework and elevating it to the highest level of international competition.
Athletes will compete with one run each to deliver their most impressive line and claim a place in freeride history.
In addition to individual titles, the event will feature a Nations Ranking, introducing a medal-based
team competition that rewards collective performance. Points will be awarded to the top five finishers
in each category, with a maximum of 100 points for first place, contributing to a Medal Standing that
will determine the overall top-performing nation.
Recent snowfall has heightened anticipation, with fresh snow in recent days and additional snowfall
forecast. Avalanche risk in the region is currently high, and the public is advised to exercise caution
and strictly follow all safety recommendations when venturing into the backcountry.
Regarding the competition, the organizing team will select the competition day within the weather
window (February 1–6) based on snow conditions and established safety criteria, ensuring the highest
possible level of safety for athletes and event staff.
