From first snowboards and easy-to-use bindings to warm outerwear and mountain essentials, we’ve rounded up some of the best kids’ snowboard gear for winter 2026/27.
Getting kids into snowboarding is all about making those first experiences on snow as fun as possible. And while a little patience and plenty of encouragement go a long way, having the right gear can make a pretty big difference too.
From soft, forgiving snowboards that make learning to turn a little easier to boots and bindings designed for smaller feet and hands, kids’ snowboard gear has come a long way. There’s also plenty of clever thinking going into outerwear and accessories, with adjustable fits, growing room and practical features designed to make life easier for both little riders and their parents.
For winter 2026/27, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite kids’ snowboard gear, covering everything from boards, boots and bindings to jackets, helmets, goggles and a few extras that make those early days on the mountain a little smoother.
Whether they’re getting ready for their very first turns or already asking for another lap, here’s our pick of the gear worth checking out this season.
Kids’ Snowboards
The right snowboard can make all the difference when kids are learning to ride. Softer flexes, forgiving profiles and lightweight constructions help make those first turns easier, while giving little riders the confidence to progress. Here are some of our favourite boards for the next generation of shredders.

Bataleon Minishred
Profile: 3BT™ Camber
Shape: True Twin
Flex: 1/10
Sizes: 85, 95, 105, 115, 120
Who is it for? For little rippers getting their first taste of snowboarding and starting to progress around the mountain. The Minishred combines an ultra-soft flex with a true twin shape and Bataleon’s 3BT™, with lifted contact points helping reduce the chance of catching an edge while they learn to turn and find their balance. The lightweight biax construction keeps things playful and easy to manipulate, while the poplar and beech core gives the board enough response as their riding progresses. From linking those first turns to trying butters and getting creative around the mountain, it’s a proper first snowboard designed to make learning fun.

K2 Lil Mini Youth
Profile: Rocker
Shape: True Twin
Flex: 2/10
Sizes: 75, 90, 100, 110, 120, 130
Who is it for? For little riders getting their first taste of snowboarding and learning to link their first turns. The Lil Mini combines an ultra-soft flex with K2’s Twin Rocker profile, which is flat between the feet and rockered towards the tip and tail to make turning and pivoting easier while reducing the chance of catching an edge. The true twin shape feels the same riding in either direction, while K2’s lightweight Noodle Construction keeps the board easy for smaller riders to control. Sizes 100cm and under also come with tip and tail grommets for attaching a pull leash, making it a fun, forgiving first board built to get kids riding – and keep them wanting another lap.

MDXOne 80cm Yeti
Profile: Hybrid
Shape: True Twin
Flex: Ultra Soft
Sizes: 80
Who is it for? For the littlest riders getting ready to make their first turns. The MDXOne Yeti pairs an ultra-soft flex with a custom rocker/camber profile and raised edges to make the board forgiving, easy to control and less prone to catching an edge. Raised binding areas give little boots some extra leverage, while 12 binding inserts mean there’s room to adjust the stance as they grow. It comes as a package with MDXOne’s lightweight XS kids’ bindings, featuring simple ratchet straps and a tool-free adjustable highback to accommodate different boot sizes.
Kids’ Bindings
Getting in and out of bindings shouldn’t be the hardest part of learning to snowboard. From traditional two-strap designs to easy-to-use Step On® systems, these kids’ bindings are built around smaller boots, growing feet and making life a little easier on the mountain.

MDXOne Harness
Colour: Lavender, Blue, Red
Who is it for? For parents helping little riders learn their first turns and gain confidence on a snowboard. Worn like a backpack, the MDXOne Harness gives parents a way to guide and support their child with a leash while they practise riding straight, controlling their speed and getting comfortable on their toe and heel edges. As their riding progresses, it can also be used while the parent follows behind on a snowboard, giving kids a little more independence before they’re ready to ride completely on their own.

Reima Reimatec Rautas
Waterproof: 10K
Breathability: 7K
Sizes: 92-140
Colour: Aquatic Blue, Grey Pink, Sparkly Blue, Fuchsia
Who is it for? For young riders looking for a warm, properly weatherproof jacket for long days playing and riding in the snow. The Rautas combines over 10K waterproofing with fully taped seams and warm insulation designed for temperatures down to around -20°C, while 7K+ breathability helps manage moisture when kids are on the move. There’s a helmet-compatible hood, adjustable snow lock and cuffs to help keep the snow out, plus dedicated pockets for a ski pass and goggles. Reima also builds around 6cm of growing room into its kids’ clothing, giving you space for layers underneath and hopefully a little more than one season of use.
