Two Days of Smoke, Sparks & Straight-Up Snowboard Mayhem

Krakow didn’t just host DIYX STRT JAM — it survived it. On December 5–6, Ethan Morgan’s roaming circus of rails, flames, flying bodies, and questionable life choices stormed through the city, leaving behind ringing ears, roasted hair, and a whole lot of unforgettable moments.

Wild, out of control, but somehow also under control…” is how Ethan summed it up. Weeks of prep nearly broke him, but the weekend of smiles, chaos, and pure energy made every second worth it.

FRIDAY — Three Tricks, Three Pierogis & A Whole Lot of Beer Foam

Friday’s first sunlight hit hard, but not hard enough to stop the show. Riders headed into Tauron Arena for the opening chaos: the Three-Trick Challenge — a boardslide of choice, a frontboard, and a press… with a beer and three pierogis after each trick.

Pauli finished first, with Dillon Henriksen and Nick Puenter right on his heels.

Then came the Oakley Gap-to-Rail Challenge, where Joey Fava torched the spot and took the win.

The session ended with the Monster Rave Session with lights and bangers left and right and non-stop to the beat of the music.

Nightfall didn’t calm anything down. The afterparty detonated as aetheboy1, DJ Ité, DJ Crack-R, 11n, and Maslak kept bodies moving until the lights came on.

SATURDAY — Headaches, Fire Gaps & The Kind of Riding You Tell Your Grandkids About

Whatever happened overnight, didn’t stop the show the next day.

The day opened with the Oakley Rail Challenge, where Petr Ershov walked away with a fresh pair of Oakley Meta Glasses.
Next up: the DIYX Mini Big Air, a single-run spin-to-win where landing was optional and carnage was guaranteed. Ethan himself took the win.

For the one-run Best Method, Max Warbington floated away with the prize.

And then came the closer. The one people will swear they saw in slow motion. The moment you can only hope someone captured clean:
Halldór Helgason shutting down the Fire Gap Rail with a performance that looked borderline impossible — fireworks, sparks, and a crowd losing its collective mind.

EXIT NIGHT — Crowning the 2025 DIYX Legends

The night wrapped with DIYX Exit Night, beats from Testpress, Mezer the Architect, ATI, AJ (aka Ethan Morgan), Lordick, and Jusvybe, and the unveiling of the weekend’s heroes:

  • Men’s Winners: Rob Roethler & Joey Fava (shared)
  • Women’s Winner: Jess Perlmutter
  • MVP (Most DIYXiest): Halldór Helgason — a well-deserved nod to a rider whose style, humour, longevity, and heart define everything DIYX stands for.

People of the DIYX

Front and center, these are some of the people that make the DIYX possible and other simply just don’t want to miss it.

Until next time, DIYXers.
